Today whilst reading through some video game news and articles I came across and article that smelt a bit fishy. This particular article has made the gaming communities on the internet go slightly thermo-nuclear over something that in my opinion is not true. So what exactly is this article? Well Calvin Hall (an unknown blogger) claimed that he had a chat with a so called Activision employee at this years D.I.C.E summit. Game-Modos Richard does not believe the article and has set out to do some investigating.
The warning signs were there, our motion trackers should have picked up on it, but we chose to ignore the fact that there hadn’t been any pre-release reviews. We shouldnt have ignored the odd release date or the ridiculous amount of pre-release hype being pushed. But we did, and we bought it, and it was rubbish. I am talking of course, about the years biggest disappointment so far, Aliens: Colonial Marines.
It seems like we’ve been on the verge of it for a while now, and in fairness to Nintendo, it has already begun. But with Sony’s announcements this week, it feels like the Next Gen of consoles is really, finally on its way. Nintendo have got off to a reasonable, if slightly understated start. The Wii U has performed well enough, but apart from its first party efforts, games are based on the current gen. It seems like developers have been waiting for Sony and Microsoft to make their moves before announcing their intentions for new games, so perhaps soon the U will start to pick up pace, and potentially build up a steady fan base before the other contenders enter the ring.
Zen Studios, the developer behind the recently announced Star Wars pinball, might be bringing Star Wars pinball to Zen Pinball 2 on the Wii U as DLC.
Toki Tori was one of my all time favourite games on the GameBoy Colour and when I found out Two Tribes would be bringing a sequel out on the Wii U I was more than a little bit excited. Check out Game-Modo’s chat with Collin van Ginkel from Two Tribes on Toki Tori 2 and other interesting news.
Camille and Richard have both been digging Trine 2 on PlayStation 3 and Trine 2: Director’s Cut on Wii U. Check our their impressions of the game below.
We have hit the after-Christmas slump, because this week sure is a quiet one with only two video game releases to wet your appetite. Do note, however, that both of these games have been released in America a couple of months back.
Todays Nintendo Direct announcement brought us some big news today, relating to the Wii U. Seven new games were confirmed, with some due to make proper playable débuts at this years E3.
