Hitman Assassin Fun Time – New Video Game Releases – 23/11/2012

Well folks its almost here, the Wii U launches on the 30th November 2012 in the UK and Europe but lets forget about that for now and move on to this weeks glamorous new releases.

This week’s biggest release is one that many gamers have been waiting to get their hands on for some time now. Hitman: Absolution was released on Tuesday and sees you take the lead as the ass-kicking bald-headed killing machine. Have people noticed how many great assassin style games we have had this year?

Reviews have been mixed for this instalment in the Hitman series. The biggest complaint we have seen is the awkward checkpoint system and daft story. Other have said the game plays brilliantly and looks great. Either way it looks like a solid entry into the series and well worth a look into if you are a Hitman fan. You can pickup the game on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

PS Vita and PlayStation 3 fans have been getting very excited for a while now regarding PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. Many people may think this is like another well known fighter and in many regards it is except it features PlayStation characters instead of Nintendo characters. Reviews have been fairly mixed with the Official PlayStation Magazine of all places giving it a 6/10, whereas other review sources have given the game a 9/10. I would choose the middleground on this game. It’s great, but a few things stop it being brilliant. If you like crazy over the top fighters then you will love this and if you buy the PlayStation 3 version you get the PS Vita version for free. How cool is that then?

Next up is yet another game that has been getting some very mixed results and that’s Epic Mickey 2: The Power Of 2 on Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and soon the Wii U. If you like the original Epic Mickey you will love this outing and its ideal for kids but reviews have said it feels a bit lacklustre. Other reviews have said that this is a great game for the family.

The 3DS also gets its own Epic Mickey called Epic Mickey: Power Of Illusion. This is supposed to be like Castle Of Illusion but finishes in just under 1 hour and a half. It has received fairly negative reviews because of this.

A portable outing that has been getting a lot of praise on the 3DS and PS Vita is the totally awesome Virtue’s Last Reward that is the sequel the the brilliant  999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors on DS. If you like puzzle RPG games this is well worth looking into as its one of the best games on the 3DS and PS Vita so far.

LEGO Lord Of The Rings has been getting glowing reviews on the Wii, PS Vita, 3DS, PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Its apparently a very funny experience and is one of the best LEGO games to date. One thing that made us chuckle is the Xbox 360 has an achievement for travelling to Mordor on foot.

Last up we have the worst game of the bunch this week and its the shockingly bad Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse. This game has been delayed a few times and still its a shocker. It’s your typical game tie in but with added stink. Avoid this one at all costs.
