You can tell it’s edging ever closer to Christmas because this week is jam packed with kick-ass games coming to game shops across the land. The only issue with so many good games is why don’t developers publish more over the summer?
Now that I have finished moaning it’s onto the games. The big game out this week is one that gained some big attention at this year’s E3: it’s none other than the steampunktastic Dishonored. I have been watching the progress of Dishonored for a long time now, and the only way to describe Dishonored is that its like Hitman, Deux Ex, and Bioshoshock, and set in a steampunk world. The press have been loving the game so far with most giving it 9/10 for its fantastic story and fluid gameplay. The only real complaint I’ve seen is that it can be completed fast if you run through the game, though I’m sure most people won’t do that.
Another game that seems to be riding high in the game review rating universe is XCOM: Enemy Unknown on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Apparently its super addictive and just as difficult in parts as the original XCOM. If you are a fan of shooters this may be right up your street.
Pokemon fans this week should rejoice because Nintendo have released their first ever sequel to the series on the DS or any Nintendo console yet in the form of Pokemon Black/White 2. It’s still super fun and features yet more new monsters.
The Kinect has not one but two games out, Fable: The Journey and Harry Potter For Kinect They have both had mixed reviews. Fable: The Journey has some of the best Kinect controls but only works 70% of the time and can become very frustrating according to reviews, and Harry Potter For Kinect looks like a collection of mini games.
So I bet many folks have been waiting for the moving tie-in game for Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted well its out on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and all Nintendo consoles. It does look rather rubbish.
The PS Vita also has some games out this week with MUD FIM Motorcross World Championship and WRC: FIA World Rally Championship 3. If you are into off road racers it may be worth a look into.
Need another RPG to play? The dudes who made The Game Of Thrones (which was a horrible game) have released a new game called Of Orcs And Men on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Expect a review soon.

- Dance Central 3 – 360
- James Bond: 007 Legends – PS3, 360, PC
- Skylanders Giants – PS3, 360, Wii, 3DS
- Doom 3: BFG Edition – 360, PS3, PC
